KUALA LUMPUR – Here we go again with the never ending saga of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s corrupt acts of nepotism and cronyism.
The Prime Minister has finally confirmed that his die hard devotee Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador will be the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Malaysia.
Abdul Hamid will replace Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun who will officially retire this Saturday, May 4.
Mohamad Fuzi, who turns 60 on May 4, was became IGP on Sept 4 2017, replacing Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
Mahathir revealed to newsmen at the Labour Day celebrations at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on Wednesday (May 1) that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had signed Hamid’s appointment letter.
With this confirmation, Mahathir has finally unveiled his long held open secret that he would appoint his crony Hamid as IGP.
Sceptics on Facebook and Whatsapp were quick to welcome Hamid’s appointment as the country’s top cop as a milestone transformation of the police force into another component of the current ruling Mahathir’s regime.
Hamid Bador is a self-declared Mahathir’s loyalist and cyber critics now believe his appointment will revive the hardline dark age of Mahathir’s previous 22-year governance, where draconian laws ruled supreme. – NTHQiBord, 1 Mei, 2019.
